The industry is diligently observing Occupational Health and Safety standards within the workplace. Its members comply with the mandates of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and organize forums to address and discuss pertinent Labor Laws within the plastic industry.
The industry is actively participating and co-hosting trade fairs, and advocating for its economic growth via its campaign on anti-smuggling and the removal of tariff distortion on raw materials and finished goods.
The Philippine Plastics Industry Association, Inc. (PPIA) was established on January 18, 1970, and has evolved into a prominent advocate for the country's downstream plastics sector. Originally comprised of 80 plastic companies, the association now boasts a membership of 160 downstream manufacturing companies, along with 44 advisers supplying raw materials and technology. Headquartered in Caloocan City, Metro Manila, the PPIA plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among local plastic product manufacturers. Its current focus extends to championing the interests of the downstream plastic industry in vital policy areas such as customs, tariffs, environmental regulations, power, energy, labor, and product standards.
The Philippine Plastics Industry Association, Inc. (PPIA) was formed on January 18, 1970 with an initial membership of eighty (80) plastic companies. In September 6, 1970, it was officially inaugurated and now house its office in a building located at 122 A. Del Mundo street, between 10th & 11th avenue, Grace Park (West), Caloocan City, Philippines.
