From June 17 to 21, 2024, the DTI-Board of Investments (BOI), in partnership with the Korea Export-Import Bank (KEXIM) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), organized a Capacity Building Workshop for Bioplastics Industry Stakeholders of the Philippines at KTR in South Korea. The workshop included representatives from the private sector, such as PPIA, PARMS, and AKO Packaging, as well as from the government sector, including BOI, DOST, and the Climate Change Commission.
Members of the ASEAN Federation of Plastics Industry (AFPI) participated in a series of meetings held by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) concerning the development of a legally binding instrument to combat plastic pollution.

On July 26, 2023, the Senate Committee on Finance, chaired by Senator Sonny Angara, deliberated on Senate Bill 2218, titled 'An Act Mandating the Formulation, Financing, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation of a Comprehensive and Multi-Year "Tatak Pinoy" (Proudly Filipino) Strategy, Establishing a Tatak Pinoy Council, Appropriating Funds Therefor, and for Other Purposes.' An inquiry in aid of the said legislation was conducted through both online and physical sessions in the Senate.
The PPIA actively participated in the deliberation of House Bill No. 220, titled the "Plastic Bags Tax Act." The proposed legislation advocates for a twenty-peso (P20.00) excise tax on every kilogram of plastic bags removed from the production point or released from the customs territory.

On February 2, 2023, PPIA First Vice President Benjamin Chua and Second Vice President Anthony Ng attended a luncheon meeting hosted by the Packaging Institute of the Philippines (PIP) at the Richmonde Hotel Pasig City. The new PIP president, Virginia Robledo, invited various industry associations to forge stronger comradery among the industries.
On August 1, 2022,PPIA officials met with the Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual and his team. The meeting was convened to discuss the Plastics Industry issues and future plans.
